What is a custom foraging tour?
In a custom tour we create a foraging experience shaped especially for you. We focus on what interests you: before the tour I hold a call with the organizer to understand who is coming, the age range, culinary preferences and curiosities. Want to focus on learning and gathering medicinal plants — maybe make a field salve together, good for minor skin troubles like bites and light burns? Or would you rather dive into wild edible plants? It’s your call.
Private foraging tour
On a private tour we choose the location and duration together (within the practical limits — a spot with enough to gather, where foraging won’t harm the local flora, where a campfire is allowed, and a few more constraints I won’t bore you with). A tour usually runs an hour and a half to two hours; with field cooking, three to four.
You’ll meet new plants and be surprised to learn that the “annoying thorn” is actually delicious, healthy, and gatherable all season long. You’ll discover flavors you can easily bring into your home kitchen, and a whole fascinating world that has been right under your nose. Spend the day with friends, family or colleagues in one of the most beautiful corners of Israel and cook a multi-course field meal together.
After the tour we can add more workshops — especially around Hararit, which is blessed with musicians, yoga teachers, meditation guides and more. Tell me what interests you and together we’ll build the exact event for you and your loved ones. So what are you waiting for? Call me and let’s start planning!
