Foraging Tour & Field Meal
Before every tour that includes a meal, I go out on a scouting walk, choose a spot with an abundance and variety of plants, and bring home the ones that will star in the meal. Then Shlomi and I start experimenting in the kitchen with the foraged plants — inventing and testing until we land on the winning recipe. These are recipes you won’t find on any other foraging tour, because we invented them; after the tour, every participant receives them by WhatsApp so you can recreate the flavors at home.
Everything we use is of the highest quality, from the olive oil to the vegetables and spices. Some things I prepare at home in advance (there will always be plain white rice for picky kids who are slower to warm to new flavors), and before the tour I check for food allergies or particularly hated spices — if there are any, I make sure everyone leaves full and happy.
The meal includes at least five dishes: at least one hot dish, a generous salad, the house specialty that appears on every tour (you’ll have to come to find out what it is), sometimes — if you’re lucky — special mushrooms that Shlomi grows, bread, spreads, and of course dessert (I never give up dessert!), plus surprises and inventions as imagination allows. We’re open to your own field experiments and recipe ideas too; and if you’re not in the mood for that, we arrive ready with ingredients and recipes. All you need to bring is dancing taste buds and a smile. Hope to cook with you in nature!
